While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I encountered behind its doors was disturbing and far below any standard .

The surfaces were tacky , and a nauseating aroma of stale beer and neglected washrooms permeated the entire bar . With a smell of a mixture of urine , putrefaction and sour vomit . The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and litter that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The restroom was in even a more revolting state — spilling over , with a snapped lever and walls covered in what I can only assume was human waste .
It wasn’t just a one-off bad night either. From reading other reviews and speaking with locals , it seems that the level of hygiene (or lack a great read thereof) at this pub is a recurring complaint. Many patrons have reported witnessing insects darting across the bar area and proof of vermin in the basement .
